After taking a 2018 hiatus to further refine his sound, Australian-based Hip Hop artist Kirklandd returns with a fresh style showcased on his new single, “Impulse.” Here, Kirklandd teams up with frequent co-producers Cam Bluff and Citizen Kay, along with Melbourne-based recording artist and producer, Zellow. Combining R&B and 90s Hip Hop with Electro Pop flair, the track delivers both nostalgic and contemporary elements. Fusing live Black Panther-inspired bongo loops over soaring piano stabs, electronic synths and Zellow’s ethereal vocals, Kirklandd’s introspective lyrics explore the journey of returning to old love - which can never be more than acting on impulse.
